Alan Arkin, the American actor who won an Oscar and a BAFTA for his portrayal of an eccentric grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine, has died aged 89.
In a seven-decade screen and stage career, Arkin appeared in Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning film Argo.
His death was confirmed by his sons Adam, Matthew and Anthony in a family statement on Friday.
"My father was a very talented musician and human being.
"A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was much loved and will be greatly missed."
Arkin played a Jedi in the Netflix series Bojack Horseman from 2015 to 2016. Salinger also contributed his voice. Michael Douglas, his co-star in another Netflix series, The Kominsky Method, paid tribute, calling him a "decent actor" who left an "indelible mark". Our Industry"
